Space Shuttle Atlantis’ external tank falls back to Earth. The tank is 75 miles above Earth and moving just over 17000 mph. Most of the tank disintegrated in the atmosphere and the rest fell into the ocean. The photo was taken from Atlantis on 9 September 2006 21 minutes after liftoff.
